The rumour comes from a guy who was previously a special adviser to a cabinet minister and claims to have connections in the media. He didn't name names, but used the words I quoted above and suggested it was unlikely to be much of a surprise. I think we can rule out Fergie. Whatever else we may tink of him on here, I'd be absolutely staggered if anything of that nature were the case with him.

I know we talk of different times but all this has made me think of when playing for the county.

I was never abused & as far as I know none of my mates were but sone things just didn’t add up. When I was asked to go for trials my brother said watch out for ...... you have to stand naked after your shower so they can check your dry. He named the bloke who would do it & my dad god love him was pissing himself laughing, we all were. This bloke had nothing to do with the coaching but was more kit supplies / maths teacher but it happened.
If it was innocent would he get away with it today but it just shows how dads never suspected a thing, not in football.

Well, the story appeared today but fell significantly short of billing in that there was no outing of the man in question as a paedophile: www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-5428419/Dario-Gradi-silent-allegations-playing-porno.html

It does, however, allege that Gradi showed a porn film to a 14-year-old Academy boy. And it contains more detail about how Gradi allowed Barry Bennell to have boys stay overnight at Gradi's house when Gradi wasn't there. That to me on its own is staggering: manager of a football club allows his prolific predatory paedophile coach to use the manager's property to invite underage boys for overnight stays. How can serious questions not be asked about that now?

The person who originally claimed that there'd be revelations this weekend insists that there are various allegations the Mail is currently sitting on. He suggests that more may emerge over the coming days or weeks by a drip effect as the paper's lawyers feel more confident about standing up other accusations.
