Paris

Like they say, "when in Rome".
On that note, take a shit in the middle of the street between two parked cars or go to McDonald's at night and watch the rats run around.

Would love to visit Paris, nearly took a girlfriend once but managed to sort ticket for Aalborg away. Caused alot of shit that match.

Feel free to become Welsh for the night! Tickets are £18. You meet some real characters...

No lady would stop me from watching them. She’s welcome to come or we do something together next time.

The two capital cities that feel the most unsafe are London and Paris, the days where the city was a place of romance and Joie de vivre is long gone. That being said I hope you have a marvelous time.

Take good walking shoes and literally, get lost. It's too big over a short trip to really see everything and there is plenty to see. Yet the beauty of Paris is that there is quite a lot to see and so many wonderful neighborhoods to get lost in. My advice would be to pick 2 or 3 areas or things to do/see and take your time to appreciate it. Moreover, get rest in order to be able to wander the streets at night - even consider a touristy night cruise/dinner on the Seine. It's beautiful at night.

Avoid fast food or chain restaurants, I wouldn't even really go with tripadvisor etc. - just wander through a neighborhood and go to a bistro that looks to have happy customers. Just remember the French are fairly regimented about meal times, you start looking at 2pm for lunch and you can forget it

Perfect. Thank you for digging that one out. I vaguely recall something when we played PSG.

Thank you to everyone else too.

Any tips with Euros? The rate seems pretty low at the moment. I can’t imagine it’ll fluctuate either way.

If you go abroad regularly you cannot beat a specialist card like the Halifax Clarity credit card.
No fees, no loading and interbank rate on purchases and withdrawals.
Even if you use it to get cash out from an atm and pay interest you get a better exchange rate than any high street provider.

I think it's overrated and expensive personally.

For once I agree with you. They still have something against the English and yes, I do speak the language, it is expensive and it's got a dirty feel to it. I lived nearby in the early 90's and it was full of dog shit. It's been cleaned up since then but I still think it's horrible. Luckily the missus agrees so I don't have to go anywhere near the place anymore. There are much better cities to visit, Stockholm, Madrid, Bonn, Berlin etc etc than Paris. I don't even see how it's romantic...a trip down a dirty river in the rain followed by an over priced meal served by a bolshie waiter. Who's probably wanked in your food.
