Cooper was always good on penalties. Going back to his Ipswich days, he saved 8 out of 10 one season, I think the one they ran Villa close for the title.Think Paul Cooper had the best success rate in the past but I can't find any stats to back it up.

There's a blog out there, I can't find it but I'd be ever so grateful if someone could. Anyway, it goes into extensive research about penalties, using mainly xG models.
My point is that there was a small entry last year noting that Man City were the only team in Europe both to score significantly more penalties than they 'should' but also more importantly had a significantly higher success rate than they ought to have had at saving penalties. I think the entry was called 'Do Man City study penalties?'

Hart, Caballero, Bravo and now Ederson- four great penalty savers. This is an amazing stat. If we save the next one then only 40% of penalties against us actually go in.
And the penalty taker will always be wondering as they wait for the Whistling Wanker's whistle! Great position to have! Good on yer, Eddie!
