Player topic: Frank Lampard (2014/15)

It was how he took up position for his goal that really stood out for me. Charged into box and defender covers him, Frank then backtracks giving himself those crucial yards of space from which to pick his spot. Just proves that a good football brain will keep you going when the legs slow down.
 
Without even touching on his footballing prowess, you have to praise him for spending 13 years at Chelsea and emerging from it a fairly decent human being. It's akin to playing 13 minutes for the scum and not conning the ref.
 
I've never seen a player who times his runs so well into the box, it was wonderful to see and his goal against Southampton was a perfect example of that. Wish him all the best in his New York adventure.
