Again no one else concerned by the wording of Pellegrini's comments on Kompany's injury? Personally I think the club are positioning themselves to sell or sideline in the summer. I think they know his injuries are worse than feared. I also think Kompany is using Belgium's doctors to contradict the talk coming out of city to try and safeguard his position at city.

I do love a good conspiracy though.

Does he get his wages docked for missing so much work? Should be on a final written warning by now.

He has had 12 calf injuries in the last 4 years plus hamstring issues as well and he is at the age where recovery from even minor grade tears take longer to recover from.

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play more than 3 or 4 90 minute games for us this season to come.

He has been a stalwart no doubt but we certainly need to start seriously looking at a replacement plan for him while keeping him at the club for as long as it is practical and he doesn't feel its a burden on our resources to keep him propped up.

We need a new captain next year one who will play the vast majority of games for us.

Kompany's injury is a major concern and I will assume that the medical staff have assessed and can at least document on what the problem is and how to manage it. That might mean referring to a specialist and perhaps shutting him down for a while in order to deal with the issue once and for all because at the moment the fear and likelihood of relapse is real every times he recovers.This is something that needs to be sorted out as he is one of the best players in the league and in my opinion, the most important offensive player in the squad and obviously the best defensive player in the squad.

He put in so much extra work in the summer to strenghen his legs,the fact that didn't work tells me it is going to keep happening,it may not be fixable

The issue for Kompany is if his ego can take walking away from Belgium to save his club career. No club football, no Belgium. I know where my priorities would lie.
