Points of Blue meeting minutes (16th January 2017)

Surprised Danny Wilson / Lisa Eaton haven't responded unless they are under orders
Excuse my ignorance @Prestwich_Blue but what happens to these minutes? Are they passed to some club official and does the club respond? How many attend the Points of Blue meeting and are they recognised by the club as a good sounding board for the mood of the match going fan base?
The minutes are sent to Danny & Lisa and they have now started responding, although they didn't for the first couple of meetings. There were about a dozen there on Monday, including at least 3 Bluemooners.

The club clearly don't consider it a good sounding board as they'd rather use things like City Voice or pay people £40 to attend Focus Groups. But PL rules require some form of face-to-face contact with fans and the Parliamentary Working Group looming at fan involvement/club governance also said clubs should meet with representative fan groups regularly. All our competitors in the top six now do this.

City Voice is totally skewed to focus on the club's agenda rather than being a true feedback platform for match going fans. I truly hope the club will start listening to the core and historical fan base soon.

Thanks to you Prestwich Blue and all the others involved in this, keep up your great work on behalf of us all.

I think this could and should be a vital link between the club and the fans and it appears that slowly the club may be engaging which is a start.

Here's a thought why don't the club have a loyalty scheme in place which actually reduces the cost of the seasoncard the longer you have been a holder of one. It's odd how players receive loyalty bonuses that run into millions if they stay at the club for a certain amount of time yet fans receive increases year after year...

Its good that POB keep plugging away. the more that people get involved the better .it can be demorilising the same few meeting up and getting none or little response from the club keep up the good work Colin & co

This may be a dumb question, but has it been pointed out to them that the other clubs do this? How many of the PL do it?
Are there any comments from other clubs' supporters to back up how useful they are?

Yes it has. Plus it's in the PL Rule Book:

R.2. Each Club shall devise, document and publish: (a) a policy (or policies) with regard to ticketing, merchandise and relations with its supporters, season ticket holders and others having an interest in the activities of the Club (together in this Section of these Rules referred to as “stakeholders”); and (b) a disability access statement. A copy of all such documents must be provided to the League before the start of the Season.

R.3. A Club’s policy with regard to its stakeholders should:
R.3.1. provide for consultation with them on a structured and regular basis through forums, questionnaires and focus groups and by the publication of current policies on major issues in an easily digested format; and
R.3.2. promote supporter and community liaison and provide for the establishment of liaison structures where none exist.

Chelsea, Liverpool & the rags publish the minutes of their Fans' Committee meetings. They agreed procedures for ticket allocation systems, match-day issues and all sorts of other things. Here, for example, are the aims of the Liverpool Supporters Committee:
Initial aims
  1. To establish a forum for supporters to communicate directly with the club in a structured manner.
  2. To help the club better understand the issues that most affect and concern our fans.
  3. To give the club an opportunity to explain the thinking behind key decisions.
  4. To enable fans to play a key role in helping the club achieve success on and off the pitch.
  5. To provide a greater degree of transparency about key issues that affect supporters.
Long-term aims
  1. To enhance the relationship between Liverpool Football Club and our supporters.
  2. To help ensure fans feel their loyalty is valued by Liverpool Football Club.
  3. To help improve Liverpool Football Club for the benefit of all supporters.
