Radio Manchester City Coverage

Great, so we get a less than impartial commentary from the BBC 5Live, every time I compare commentaries, it's as if we are some how a) playing poor b) with the £££ spent, it's poor c) if we play well, with the £££ spent the minimum expected.
At least with the local commentary, you know exactly how City are playing, good, or bad.
I don't want to hear Robbie Savage bleat on and on, or the usual anti City agenda, it's pathetic! It's great to hear Paul Lake, and The Goat, yes a little partizan, but it's far more balanced than the Sky Talk shite drivel....

Listening to Mark Chapman on radio 5 last night .
He told me Villa got relegated in 1984-85 season .
Wrong Chapman it was 1986-87 season .If you can't get your facts rights say nothing Mr Chapman .
I don't subscribe to the fact Chapman good broadcaster on radio 5 .
Mark Pougatch is but not Mr Chapman .

Bollocks to finance – Ian Cheeseman is a bloody good commentator, miles better than most of the dross you hear on 5 Live.
GMR is my one and only choice for listening to City commentary, I won't be happy if it gets scrapped!

If I'm not there and it's not on TV then it's Cheesy on Radio Manchester for me. I'd much rather have a commentator with a bias towards City than one who follows the anti-City agenda of the rest of the media.

The guy who commentated on the 1999 play of final was far better than cheesy in my opinion wonder what happened to him.

When I wasn't able to go to the home or away matches last season because of illness, it was Radio Manchester I tuned in to for the commentary. This was because they talk City not every other club under the sun, they talk about our players, not how much they cost all the time. They have an agenda yes but it is OUR agenda, they are rooting for us.

Ian Cheeseman would, in a similar way to Zab, bleed blue blood!! He is City through and through. His co-commentators/pundits are not going to say we played well when we didn't but they will give the positives as well.

I feel as if I have been listening to Cheesy for ever and I don't want to stop now thank you very much.

10/10 gentlemen. My sentiments exactly.

Andy Buckley's reaction to City's equaliser, when his voice went higher and higher until he must have cracked every pane of glass in London, is one of those completely unforgettable moments in City's history. And yet Gary doesn't mention it in his (otherwise) admirable book!!!!
