I think many are overlooking the bigger picture, CL titles are great but I also think City & their owners are trying to instill a philosophy and establish a playing legacy as evidenced by many efforts to mirror Barcelona's setup.

No surprise it comes from a FC Barcelona fan to point out the obvious, someone who appreciates the bigger picture (as Barcelona have done the same) and is probably Spanish. Will take awhile for the penny to drop for British football fans (as always). City are building a dynasty that will be self-sufficient for years, the modern model/blue-print every club will copy in the future.

He won't be around on that RAGcafe for long.. he has too many braincells.

I was rooting on there and this FCBarca fella was arguing, someone told him to fuckoff on his own forum.......turns out he's a rag...bizzare user name to say the least, bizzare forum, they even have a Moderator who's an Everton fan.....strange.

Love kk

Does anyone else find it impossible format to read on a phone ?

I wind RAWK almost impossible to understand in terms of how they structure things. Awful forum that in terms of site design. Ragcafe is straightforward design but the in your face colour is horrible and they seem to have loads of duplicate threads on the same topic. Bluemoon is well thought out and looks professional. Well done Ric and all involved.

This corker, from a rag posting on RAWK:
Haha, I'll have a nibble.

Embarrassed that City got Guardiola over us? Really? That deal was years in the making and purely a matter of time following Begiristain's and Soriano's arrival four years ago. You seem to think we're concerned with what's going on at City; hate to break it to you but we're not mate. We have our own problems
cheesy.gif
City have won two titles and a couple of domestic cups; meh, they've spent over a billion since 2007 and it's not really a lot to crow about. They're still struggling to fill their ground and are now having to provide free train travel for fans to get to home games from London; yep, paying for fans to turn up. They criticised us for years for our out-of-town-support, hating everything about our behemoth of a club, and yet they're turning into everything they hated. Laughed at us for taking 'Football Club' off our crest; they've just done the same. They're a small time club that won the lottery and they'll continue to throw their financial weight around and pick up the odd trophy; oh noes! Like I said, more concerned with our own club and getting our own house in order. A top manager and a few decent signings and United will be just fine; we've bounced back from much more testing periods in our history.

As for being the second team in Manchester? What, like you were the second team in Liverpool when Everton finished above you in 2013? Nah - form/class/temporary/permanent etc. City crave United. Everything they do is geared around us. Even City journalists yesterday couldn't wait to pen articles on what Guardiola's arrival would mean for UNITED, not City. Complete inferiority complex built over decades and decades. Yet they hate being hated; whereas we thrive on it. Everything's a 'rag conspiracy'; David Gill, UEFA (boooooooo!), FA Cup draws, penalty decisions, offsides, FFP, Alex Ferguson the dark overlord, the fact that Santa wears red, the fact that ketchup's red... a small-time club with a small-time mentality that dishes out free plastic bananas for fans to goon about with. I'm sorry - this probably doesn't fit with your perception of both sets of fans at the moment - but I'd much rather be a red and will enjoy the ride however it pans out in the coming years, absolutely regardless of whatever those wacky blue bellends achieve...

Nice to see some balance from a rag.

Wait a minute- Pep has his work cut out because we're weak at the back and have an ageing squad full of super egos! We're no Barca after all.
On the other hand Pep has taken the cowards' way by choosing a club full of top-class players, and winning stuff will not present him with any sort of challenge! Just like he did at Barca and Munich.
It's what he does - just goes to big clubs with good squads ( or overrated ones full of ageing egos )
Hang on a tick- were showing great disrespect to Pellers , getting another manager in while he's still here , but they have to talk to Maureen under Van Maad's nose because he's a better manager and they need to improve to compete with City, who are shit anyway and err just a bunch of ageing egos and also erm, have a squad of top class players.
Make up your minds you fools.

Wow !!!
You can tell he's not obsessed with City.

Nice to see a United fan claim that he isn't arsed about Pep coming to us and that everything we've achieved post-takeover doesn't affect him whatsoever. Shame for him that any Rag that feels that way can't possibly be a true fan of the club. And if he is hurting but not admitting it that's all good too so it's a win-win for me!

It is fascinating to read the reactions of rags and scousers to Guardiola's appointment. At least the scousers never expected him to go to Liverpool because they have just made a very good appointment themselves, but are finding that miracles don't happen overnight. What the rags can't come to terms with is that 'istry and tradition counts for nothing compared to the future. Was it Otamendi who is supposed to have greeted United's sales pitch about their past titles and cups by telling him that he didn't care what they'd done 20, 10 or even 3 years ago - he wanted a club which could win things while he was playing for them and City said it was much more likely at the Etihad!

So Guardiola has to be portrayed as a moral coward without the courage to face up to helping the greatest club in the world back (?) to the summit of the world game. This is an argument an Arsenal fan used in the Daily Mail (!) to explain why Pep should have gone to the Emirates. The arrogance to believe that helping either club to the summit of the world game is an issue which should proccupy everyone with any interest in football, is, of course staggering - but typical. It's also nonsense. There are much more demanding challenges in football, and Pep has opted for a far more exciting one.

We went through a phase 5, 6 and 7 years ago when we suffered taunts from these same 2 clubs that players only came to City for money: those who went to United and Arsenal went there because they revered those clubs' 'istry and tradition and because they were still making history and winning cups and titles. It wore a bit thin when City fans could sing back that they were getting Phil Jones while we were getting Kun Aguero! And then we began winnin things!

Now, we have attracted the world's most sought after manager. It was obvious Chelsea and United (and their fans!!!) wanted him but it was obvious where he wanted to go. And what really pisses United fans is that he chose City for purely football reasons. Guillem Balague got it spot - the "City project" is amazing, the greatest ever in the history of the game. Guardiola is coming to City to make history, not to live in it.
