Great player but I always thought Cafu was better

Agreeed I'm more of a Cafu man myself, but Roberto Carlos was another hero of mine and true legend of the game. I remember me and all my mates running down to the local bowling green to practice THAT free kick after Le tournoi in 97, rumour had it that you had to hit it on the valve of the ball, but it was just his fantastic technique.

Him and Cafu gave Brazil great balance in the 2002 world cup, wonderful full backs. Legends

Indeed. Has there ever been a more balanced combination?
Single handedly inspired millions of kids to take football more seriously with a single kick of a ball. I don't think that's an exaggeration, who didn't dream of scoring a goal like that one against France?

I dunno mate must surely be up there?

I was watching a bit of football italia around about that time and Cafu and Candela were providing a brilliant balance for Roma in a lovely system. Think they won the league and I've had a bit of a soft spot for them since

Roberto Carlos though, what a player. Seemingly hard as nails, fast as fuck, hell of a shot. One of footballs real characters. Don't really see this so much these days, I'd almost forgotten about it:

What a talented player. Could you ask for two better wingbacks than him and Cafu?! They could run all day, defend and attack and score goals.
