It was on the back of those wins when we rolled unto the Etihad thinking would it be another six that coaches started with a back six, rapidly moving to an eight and finishing with a back nine. We ruined football for the away fans coming to Beswick.

89 points in the league with a much weaker squad than any we have had since. Hard to beat, organised and got the maximum out of his players. All achieved after 2 and a bit years. Thanks Bobby Manc

The writer is a Zenit fan and he seems quite optimistic about Mancini generally.
The season kicks off on Sunday and Zenit travel to face newly promoted SKA Khabarovsk in the Russian Far East - an air travel distance of just under 4,000 miles, which means a 7-hour flight there and another one back. Suppose at least they get the trip out of the way early in the season.
I'll try and keep an eye on how things are going for Roberto over here and post occasional updates. Wish him well.
