Have read that the rags are sniffing and might bid in Jan.

Hope they are not given a clear run.

Is it? Clubs are regularly poaching 13/14/15 year olds from other clubs, so to go after a 17 year old with prodigious talent is not really a joke. For comparisons, we spent what could end up at nearly £4m for Denis Suarez (17) and Karim Rekik (16) this summer. We have also tried to sign Dan Smith (15) from Crewe for anywhere between £500k-£800k, this is a common strategy of clubs.
