Will Putin win or will literal sugar daddy empire holder Ksenia Sobchak cause a shock? Sobchak being promoted by our very own BBC as the “Not sure if you would?” Candidate.

Current President has urged the people to vote on mass. Another 90% turnout; A definitive winner with 102% of the vote.

A truly democratic process.

There's more chance of City blowing the title, then Putin losing.

Kremlin decides who can run. They also decide how much television coverage you get.

Totally fair...

The election reminds me of the rotten boroughs episode of Blackadder 2 when Baldrick wins a seat in parliament.

You mean as compared with the US electoral process, famously described in 2012 by President Carter as shot through with "financial corruption" that threatens democracy " as we have one of the worst election processes in the world right in the United States of America, and it's almost entirely because of the excessive influx of money".

One day we will all wake up and realise we have been sleep walking through the myth of a "democracy" determined by free and fair elections through one man,one vote. It's anything but "fair" in the US or the UK and Russia seems no better or worse.

In the meantime lets trust what our eyes tell us and watch our team play the best football we have ever seen in the Premier League. If it's bread and circuses courtesy of the US Empire , the Etihad is the place to be with its peppered steak pies.

You make a good point about the US system which appears to be run by the NRA and any other corporation that pays enough lobbyists to do their bidding.

Which is far less lopsided than the advantages Yelstin had versus his ex-communist opponent,
Media support, (mostly illegal) funding, support from corrupt oligarchs and last but not least, open meddling by Western countries that can't stop talking about Russia after Trump fairly clobbered their favourite
