#ShareTVWealth

City do plenty in the community and all this socialism in football seems to be more prevalent since City became rich, nobody gave a fuck about it before 2008 it seemed. Could you imagine if every largish business HAD to give money back to its roots?

Back in the real world Messi has just received 2.5 million bricks for laying a brick in Africa I wonder if UNICEF are disappointed with that?

While that's certainly the case in some quarters, it's unfair to level that at the FSF. They're as impartial an organisation as you can get and have been fighting various issues - fan issue in particular - for many years. Their increased level of campaigning regarding ticket prices, etc, is simply because less and less people can afford to attend matches these days yet the TV deals are increasing exponentially.

There was a debate about this at the FSF meeting which was quite interesting/enlightening - the difference between what a Premiership club and a Championship club get are ridiculous. Whether it's accurate or not I'm not too sure, but apparently 1% of the TV deal the premiership is getting would make all of the League 1 and 2 clubs financially stable for 5 years.

In terms of points 1 + 2, the premiership doesn't have to pay £20m it was going to pay Norwich in parachute payments (Because they got promoted), they are going to spread that evenly among all the clubs - this would be enough money to completely cover the £20's plenty campaign, and it's money the premiership clubs only found out about in the last month, meaning they wouldn't have budgeted for it - it's an absolute no-brainer to give something back to us fans!

This assumes that all L1 and 2 clubs would exhibit some kind of probity in their financial dealings. I think some would follow an 'up 'n at 'em' approach that might be unsustainable.

I understand your point, but couldn't the same be said for Premiership clubs?

The point is that the money should be distributed so clubs in lower leagues have at least a small chance of getting into the premiership!

It's not up to the Premier League to fund Bury.

Bury will go bust again in a few years because someone in charge has aspirations of getting as high as they can. All those clubs who get crowds of less than 3000 should know their place. The reason they struggle is because of the wages they pay out. Someone in League Two will be on £1000 a week, it's not sustainable and the fans are having to fork our up to £20 for fourth division football. They need to live within their means and invest it all in the youth.

These clubs are paying big wages for the level they are in, have no reserve or youth teams and then blame it all on the Premier League.

For me if you wanted to share the wealth then as a one off payment the Premier League as a goodwill gesture could build each club two full sized 3G pitches. This would benefit everyone, the clubs youth players, the first team players and the community.

The League Two clubs get £300,000 a year already from the Premier League, where does that money go?

One of the most arrogant posts I've ever read from a City fan. Telling smaller clubs than ours that they should "know their place" is downright fucking disgraceful.

Behave. I noticed you didn't say a word about where the money should go.

Why should the hard work of top professionals and business men fund those who fuck it all up?

That's like telling McDonalds to fund Big Bobs Burgers on the high street because he isn't capable enough to run a successful business.

Why is it always that football is expected to take a moral stance?

How many times have Bury got the buckets out? Their name Shakers actually mean something now, they wouldn't have to do it if they "knew their place" and lived within their means.

The money they get from the Premier League should go towards actually improving their club in the long run, not so they can offer some washed up striker from Plymouth an extra £200.

Football is a sport and the PL needs a reasonably strong FL below it; McDonalds doesn't need a strong Bob's Burgers. How much we should support them is up for debate but this new TV deal is the obvious opportunity to add a few bob to their coffers.
Though it's tempting to say we got bugger all help during our seasons away from the top division.

I think it's pretty obvious where I think the money should go - more of it should trickle down the divisions. Your burger analogy is piss-poor and irrelevant to this debate because the last time I looked, there are 92 football teams that make up the league pyramid and to say we shouldn't give the teams in the lower divisions any more money because it's nothing to do with the PL teams is utterly wrong when all the divisions are linked by a promotion/relegation process. As for financial mismanagement, well it's not like there haven't been any PL teams that have been mismanaged is it?

To top it all, you even have the cheek to make reference to Bury's ticket prices when you sneered at those City fans who protested about Arsenal's prices a few season's back. What the fuck is that all about?
