No. As long as the refs do their job and book players there's an advantage to the fouled team in that they've a compromised opposition player to target.
I'd prefer aggravated assault on City players to be reinstated as a red card offence tbh.

To be honest, it already should be. If you make no attempt to actually play the ball then you aren't making a tackle, you are just kicking them. Pulling back is different and probably should only be a yellow, but tackling someone without any intent to get the ball is just kicking isn't it?

Apart from his ridiculous assertion that Joe Bennet didn’t deliberately hurt Leroy, I’d agree with the thrust of what he’s written. The laws of the game should (broadly) reward attacking and punish negative play.

bearing in mind we commit a lot of tactical fouls like this, we'd receive quite a few red cards...

i'd prefer sin bins for this sort of offence though, not as serious a punishment as a red card but serious enough to prevent the player from doing it...perhaps

No,only reckless,dangerous tackles should be a red,if its one of those then ok but if not a yellow

yhp, Alli, Kane, Puncheon, Murphy, Pogba would all be deemed to be going for the ball, Sterling would have been sent off at Palace, and Dinho and Ota would get sent off every game.
