very good showers that I highly recommend ,but the op is after a elecy shower . Mira do a good similar on as do triton although the quality is not as good as yours

op the t80 is triton not as good as Mira but ok.

Triton Cara 8.5Kw on offer at B&Q if that's any good to you mate.

Something must be wrong with previous installation or the unit itself if it only lasted 2 years. I would expect one to last 8-10 years with scheduled cleaning of the shower head and inlet filter.

Never had an issue with Mira or Triton showers either, not had a Gainsborough though.

If there is any way the tiling could be repaired where the electric shower unit has been I would definitely recommend replacing with a Grohe shower bar. They are awesome and will give you years of trouble free use.
I've had a couple of electric showers and they are dreadful compared to the Grohe.

mate they are just shit now , used to fit them for landlords and don't anymore as I was sick of going back out to them , Gainsboro used to send a fitter out to replace the ones that broke down within a year ,took it off the wall, asked why they don't repair them ,he said they were hit and miss ,and .....shit ...but they kept him in work tho :) went out to one last week stripped it down cleaned it and it worked like new .

Grohe do an electric shower comes in at around £90 . But I don't know a soul that has had one fitting so cant recommend it , but they do good taps and showers that work of a mains boiler . Aqualisa are better , I have replaced cartridges on Aqualisa showers fom the 80`s that work as good as new , they also do electric showers but I don't know anyone that has had one fitted . The galaxy one is an okay shower and as good as a triton t80
