If its true that his contract is running out and he's being linked with managerial jobs, isnt it likely that he has made the decision to leave City to secure a job as a manager? Probably with City's good wishes? No big fall out, no drama, just an honest appraisal by both parties that at this point in his career he needs to move elsewhere.

It's time for Paddy to move up to replace Brian Kidd. Kiddo has been a loyal servant and has helped a number of managers to find their feet at City, but he's of pensionable age now and deserves to step back from the front line, maybe to help the club at youth recruitment level. He would be a useful asset in the recruitment of local youth and if he did this full time then it can't do us any harm. Meanwhile, with MP having a year remaining, we can assess PV from the front line especially with some of our EDS lads getting closer, and we can then see whether he is a candidate for he big job in a year's time or whether we do uproot everything by bringing in an outsider even if it is Pep.
