Sunderland v City post match

Did we have any shots on target in the first half ?. - except for Sergio's goal.
The only near miss was Leroy's cross that Spanish Dave was oh so near to.....
Dino had a long range shot straight at Pickford.

Sergio won't put up with playing second fiddle to Jesus, or anybody for that matter, and nor should he

I just pray that Pep can find a way to somehow keep them both happy with enough game time if 1 up front is the way he's gonna play

If Pep rests (ie leaves on the bench) one of Aguero, Jesus, Sane and Sterling each match, they all get to start 3 out of 4 matches, with a 60th min sub appearence in the 4th game. Wouldnt that be a more than adequate workload for them? Yes, they might not be happy to be left on the bench for the really big games. And it might not be the ideal for Jesus to play 2 matches out of 3 on the left (although in his first full season in the PL that actually might be quite sensible). But it keeps the same basic system whilst having a slight variation each game. And if we do sell Aguero we're not going to replace him with a squad player, it would have to be a high class striker, so we would have the same second fiddle issue anyway.

For me Aguero is still the number one striker and people have gone a little over the top with Jesus and his impact so far. For me Sane during that time was the outstanding performer.

That is not to say Jesus will not be the player we expect him to be but maybe like Sane he may struggle to settle initially, or Sterling (last year) struggle with confidence or may suffer another injury. At the moment its an unknown and the thing about Aguero is he has done it consistently for five years plundering goal after goal. Jesus so far has done it for a couple of weeks.

We have seen the flexibility of Sane and Sterling to play both right and left and we know Jesus can play left so at the outset those three could be rotated and in the event Serg is injured Jesus could play as striker or Pep could play a front two in some games.

But for me Serg is still the main man and offers the consistency of performance, would be such a shame to lose him now when we have finally got all the attacking pieces in place.
