Tablet recommendations for a 3 year old

I let my little lad use my old phone as a mini tablet. it fits nicely into his hands & I control all the downloads etc. He doesn't half watch some strange stuff on YouTube with Spiderman & Marvel or pure lego but then he also plays invention and logic / programming games plus CBeebies has some pretty good storytime books which you can interact with.

Why do people take the easy way out these days, a few rousing choruses of " Kumbaya my lord, Kumbaya " at the back of the plane should do the trick.
