City Football Group (CFG) buy into Chinese club Sichuan Jiuniu FC (from Chengdu)

Just recently, Marck Coucke (a Belgian billionaire) bought RSC Anderlecht that was for sale. As a result he is forced to sell his controling share in KV oostende which is a team that also plays in the Belgium first league, he has to because you can't own 2 teams in the same competition. At this moment they are in negotiations with Manchester city for the majority of the shares of KV Oostende.

One might wonder where the logic is in that, when a owner basicly changes of club and is forced to sell his old club likely not at a premium price? The answer is that it's pretty much all the result of petty personal vendetta's among Belgian billionare Entrepeneurs. There were several candidate's to buy RSC Anderlecht, but the main candidate was Paul Gheysens who is owner of Royal Antwerp FC (also a Belgium 1st class team) and who wanted to buy RSC for his sons. But now, to the surprise of everyone, RSC has been bought up by Mark Coucke and his bussiness associate Jonas Ide. Jonas Ide got into a spat with Gheysens when the former wanted to buy 30 hectares of farmland extra around his estate and the latter instead bought up all that land around Ide's estate pretty much to spite him. Jan Coucke otoh got into a spat with with Gheysens when he had bought up a apartment block toghether with a bussiness associate for renovation and the latter demanded a 50% share of the cake when it was revealed that he owned 2 appartments in the block. So Mark Coucke and Jonas Ide who are friends decided to buy up RSC Anderlecht under the nose of Gheysens just to get back at him, apparently they even had a another bussiness associate spy among the negotiations of Gheysens by presenting himself as a interrested co-investor, all the while constantly phoning trough information to Mark Coucke.

As a sidenote, Gheysens club Royal Antwerp FC is in a partnership with Manchester United.

Was hoping this read might get me out of doing late night shopping, but now I can't wait to go.

Cool

Atletico Torque are doing well in their last two games. They beat Penarol who are arguably the biggest club in Uruguay and a dramatic last minute winner in the more recent game.

Girona have been a revelation and hope they can even improve on last year.

Mentioned in another thread but really keen to see how they and the other CFG clubs get on.

Something to follow when city aren’t playing!

NYCFC just got dumped out of the US Open Cup 4-0 by the Red Bulls

Torque won again tonight which means they’re ahead of Penarol who won the league last year and are Uruguay’s biggest club.

Some rumours in France that Toulouse might be about to announce a partnership with CFG.

Rumours enhanced by their newly announced club crest redesign, which is identical to a CFG badge with that circular design, font, and the second little ring around the main circle.

I seem to remember us being in talks with St. Etienne a while back, so maybe a French club has been something they've wanted for a while.
