question (what type of fish live in the canal that you can eat) and would you eat fish out of the canal

am not a big fan of fishing but i only know there is alot of pike and roach and perch in them canals but the canals they are rotten with everything dumped into them

I have eaten pike and perch, but both are really bony. (that's bony, not Bony)
Wouldn't really fancy either out of the canal though, still, probably as good for you as the farmed rubbish the supermarkets sell as Scottish salmon.

Well I live on the banks of the River Irwell and have seen it all. I get a Heron now that sits on the bank which occasionally dives for fish. Mostly it's those Canadian feckers that came and never went back. The ducks are good but they seem to be bullied by the fomentioned Canadian feckers. Bill Werbinick and Kirk Stevens have a lot to answer for.
