It doesn't look as if they plan to upgrade drivers at all for pre-Win 8 operating systems.

Please note that Sony is currently not planning on providing an upgrade procedure, nor drivers and utilities, for older models which were released with Windows 7 or previous versions of Windows

Well that's a "that's unbelievable Jeff" moment. I'm mean just WTF is their reasoning (beyond greedily forcing you into buying a new laptop).
