Yeah, but it still closed at midnight.
probably something to do with the fact that Jan ends on a Saturday and it makes more sense for a transfer window to end on a business working day, rather than midnight on a Saturday. you just need to look at the last transfer windows to realise that it will be better for all, Benjani last minute deal and the Berb scandal at the rags are good examples. Who else puts multi million pound deals through at stupid oclock in the evening apart form football clubs.

The reason is indeed that UEFA office isn't open on weekends and therefore there would be no chance to get international clarification for weekend transfers.
