A tsunami warning has been issued for the entire US west coast after an 8.2 magnitude quake 157 miles south east of Chiniak, Alaska. Reports of a 32 foot wave north east of its epicentre.

Doesn't sound good.

Hope people get to higher ground quickly.

There is usually only 1 quake over 8 magnitude a year, globally.

The early reading from one buoy also didn't sound too good, with a 10ft wave increase.
10m i think, not 10ft, which is pretty bloody scary for a buoy out at sea. Fingers crossed for everyone.

It would be 10ft surely out at sea which is huge.

They get bigger and faster as they move shallower.
