TV Streaming: Chromecast laggy?

Hi all - did a quick search for the TV Streaming thread but couldn't find it :(

Real quickie.

I have a Sharp Aquous TV which has most of the streaming apps built in.
Unfortunately it doesn't have NOW TV.

I"ve just taken out the offer as there's loads of stuff on there I want to watch over the next month or so (TV to keep me company alongside my house plants....dark nights and all that too).
Currently Entertainment and Cinema for £9.98 for months (half price essentially) plus free boost for 7 days (which you can also cancel anytime). Ends today btw....

Unfortunately my TV doesn't have the NOW TV app (the only bleeding one it's missing - can't get it on here).
It does, however, have built in Chromecast but I have an inkling it's a little laggy. Every now and then it has these minor pauses/slight jitter - never experienced this when using the apps direct (Netflix etc, unless the wi-fi is slow on the odd occasion).

Is this normal? If so, I may as well pick up a firestick whilst they're on offer over the next few days.

Yeah - they're ace.
I've had several over the years, but they went with the kids/ex.

This TV works flawlessly with all the apps (Netflix, Prime, Disney...) but doesn't have NOW. I'd essentially be purchasing the Firestick for the NOW tv app but if chrome cast is known to be laggy it will probably be worth it.
