General transfer rumours

Outstanding negotiating once again from our guys, time well spent.
If they got the job done the fact that he'll miss the first week of training in hopefully a ten year plus career isn't the end of the world.

Had they gone in like some would like we'd probably be haggling over a £60m pricetag now.

RT; @antonmeana on Cadena SER: "United and Juve are very close to a deal. If Pogba doesn't rebel, he'll be a red."

They could just as easily bump it up once we agree to the £50m, but they won't.

They set the price, the club twiddled their thumbs for ages and now look set to just pay what Everton wanted all along.

Hardly worth a pat on the back from a negotiating stand point. Signing wise it's a great signing imo but talk about stopping at every dint in the road.

How do you £50m was always the asking price pal?

I don't think we know enough to criticizing or praising anyone, Chelsea tried to bring Evertons price down and ended up walking away from a deal didn't they? We could have done the same. We don't even know if a budget has been set or not, it might have had a lot to do with negotiations on other deals... if signing Stones meant we would miss out on other key targets then we might have looked elsewhere for a better price(there's more than Stones out there that will fit the bill they just wont be English), there could be lots of factors at play here and untruths in what's being reported in the press and social media.

Spot on. Too many simply think we are buying from the high sreet at times

Half the job is convincing the player we are the place to be.

The fact that he starts training a week later than "maybe" he could have is pretty much insignificant.

And at this stage we don't know what Everton were asking or what we will be paying.
