UEFA experiment changing penalty shootout rules

Don't see the problem with trialling it.

But, luck is a part of the game as well.

Me too.

One of those moment that Navas might surprise us if we did it.

In what way?!?!

Old videos was doing the rounds of these shootouts and from then it looks a lot harder to score (or then players are shit) one thing I noticed not one chipped the keeper or took it round him. Was that part of the rules they had?

Just watched a replay of Germany v Norway in the women's U17. It went to a penalty shoot out, which ultimately went to sudden death; found it very confusing seeing one team taking consecutive penalties, especially Norway missing their 5th and then having to take the 6th: Germany won.

Watching it unfold, it almost feels as if you can sense a momentum gathering for one team or the other, something you don't get with the current system. The goalkeeper thus becomes even more important in such situations, and if this system does become the norm, then I can foresee a time when you may even have a specialist keeper that is subbed in for shoot outs.

At the end of 90 mins each team should be required to remove two players. If it's still a draw after a further 15 mins then a further two have to come off until one side is winning after the end of a 15 minute period. Much fairer than pens and a real test of skill and stamina for both teams.
