uefa investgate racist chants by spurs fans at ade

Wouldn't be surprised if it was the Madrid fans to be honest. They're a disgrace too.

Or maybe it was the Spurs fans as they were singing their usual ''his father washes elephants'' songs?

How are the club expected to have control over what their fans say?

Perhaps besides the point, but the chant's not racist, not that it would be in anyway more offensive to Adebayor.

clubs can not be asked to control what there fans say - swearing or being rasist.

but as will all know, if a fan is caught doing either of these things, then the club can ban them.

so why is rooney moaning

You missed the bit about washing elephants. This is meant to demean him through connecting Africa, Elephants and "native" work. Adebayor is being attacked as an African. Everyone knows what it means.

Well someone said is it really racist? I hate spurs but its not really racist and i find "he used to like coach trips, he don't anymore" to be more offensive. Also this song suddenly become racist sfter they spent 3 seasons singing it!

If you go through songs sung by fans this is in bad taste but not as bad as some i have heard. In particular the Millwall song about Bobby Moore and his cancer. All means of fans making hissing noises (gas chamber mocking) when they play spurs.

I think the issue of whether it's racist or not is very much a background one.

Whether it is or isn't, it's relatively tame compared to calling his mother a whore.

Try washing an African elephant and you'll probably find yourself trampled to death - they're notoriously difficult to domesticate.

Now an Asian elephant on the other hand is a completely different kettle of fish.
