Under 12's "Truce Tournament"

Just look at cost of CFA! Don't known exact figure but know in last couple of years we have paid money to lads from Everton, Liverpool, United amongst others and put all lads in private education so they are practically full time players. Am sure Blackburn won't have had the pulling power of us thats for sure! Anyway. Hardly a big deal. Chances of us producing a lad for first team is practically zero. U23s football and loans to crap sides means there's more chance of landing on the moon than playing in our first team!

Will have to congratulate Adarabioyo, Maffeo, Angelino, Garcia and Brahim then for their moon landings so far this season. Young Phil Foden would've made the list but the expedition hit a technical glitch at the last minute. He's only 16 though so im sure he'll get another chance one day to land on the moon!

Ridiculous post.

Unsure of what's caused offence. Simply stating the difficulty in breaking into the first team. Ill give you the dead rubber against Celtic (similar to when we threw it in against Chelsea last year) but am yet to see the step up by a single player into the real squad. Would love to be proved wrong but the harsh realities of a club like ours striving to be the biggest and best makes it nigh on impossible for us to elevate one of the kids. Why would you take the risk when you can blow big money on a potentially better bet? The lad coming from Brazil at 19 is a perfect example. Despite the talent in the 23s we will still pay that kind of money for a boy.

You arent sure whats caused offence? Maybe the fact you signed up to Bluemoon less than 48hrs ago and already you have written off our Academy system despite evidence to the contrary.Only now is the investment beginning to show its worth, and the talent beginning to emerge, over the next couple of years you will be proved very wrong as the ability and talent of some of our kids simply cant be ignored.

Regarding Jesus,he is a one off - a world talent - if an opportunity arises to sign such a player, irrespective of our academy, then you take it,obviously.

It's a point of view that many hold that the influx of money, creation of the CFA and the recruitment policy that accompanies it has killed off the aspirations of local kids of one day playing for City and making a good living together with winning some silverware and maybe England caps.
I have some sympathy with that view but desperately hope that a player like Foden will come along and prove that it is possible to do the lot.

Well aren't you a delight.

I have zero sympathy with that theory given the fact that two thirds of players at the CFA are local lads.

That would be the Phil Foden who was on the bench against Celtic in the Champions League game at just 16 while Adarabioyo played the whole match yes? Adarabioyo was born and bred in Manchester and has been at City since he was just 5 years old btw just in case your knowledge of the youth setup is a bit sketchy.

Edit: If you want to get a feel about how depressed the local lads are about the Academy try http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...are-revolutionising-the-entire-football-acad/

'Only Chelsea bettered the eight players City delivered to England’s youth teams in their last round of international matches, evidence of a strong home-grown – and even local – ethos that often gets overlooked when referring to their academy. Nine of the 11 starters in last year’s FA Youth Cup final against Chelsea were born in Manchester.'

They must be queuing up to leave.
