I'm sure a lot of you have see the disgusting footage by now. What I'd like to know is how did this overbooking come about (I know it's kind of standard practise with a lot of airlines). Do you reckon someone turned up at checkout and said I need to be on this flight here's $20K, get me a seat. I would love to have seen the reception they got when they sat down in that guy's seat.

Maybe the other passenger wanting to get on had priority? Dont armed forces get priority in such situations?

Rules are rules, the guy should've succumbed and just got off. You don't fuck about with the authorities state side and your certainly don't fuck about on planes

4 passengers had to get off to make room for reserve crew I think.

Thats also my opinion.

Irrespective of the rights and wrongs where their admin/seat allocation is concerned, this bloke was refused travel on one of their planes, which they are entitled to do at any time.
He had every right to be angry and upset at the decision but by reacting in such a manner, and not complying with the airlines request,he brought it upon himself.

They offer up to 1000 dollars in such circumstances - why not just say over the tannoy the first 4 to volunteer to get off can have 500 dollars each. I'm sure there would have been enough volunteers

I am so spaced on valium to fly, they would have no problem dragging me out. That doctor squealed a bit.
