The French attacked Gibraltar twice in reprisals
On 24th September 1940 64 French bombers based at Oran pulverised the dockyards
on 25th September they returned with 83 bombers and elements of the French navy, they caused severe damage to the dockyards again and a numer of British ships were sunk or damaged
