Walsall have come up with a novel way to sell season tickets, hopefully a lot of lower league teams follow suit.

They are offering 13-18 yr olds season tickets for £46 with £2 cashback at each game to spend on food, drink. Therefore the ticket is free.

Way to go Walsall hope it catches on, Oldham, Bury, Roch take note then when City, Rags not playing Sat you may fill your grounds.

Some of the lower league teams need to do thing like this, get the people through turnstiles then make money on pies and drink. Latics just charged 2 quid and got 8k instead of usual 3k

Rochdale postponed again today. They play on a worse swamp than MANUre.

How exactly does this help them make a profit if in effect the ticket is for free? Surely it would only work if they spent more than £2 on food and drink but even then the profit would probably be quite small.

Although, still, fair play to them for making an effort to try and get people in, especially younger ones.

It's not about profit it's about securing the next generation of fans.

they dont buy the sweets etc for the same price as the kids because they buy in bulk

if the kids go to the shop with their voucher they will more than likely spend more than the £2
