We've had a few reports recently of people being ripped off when buying tickets on here.

Ultimately we have no control over transactions, and have considered closing down this section of the forum. However, many people have also benefitted from it by getting tickets off legitimate sellers so we'll keep it going for the timebeing.

Please be cautious when buying tickets on here - ideally arrange to meet the seller so that you can hand over the cash in exchange for the tickets, rather than transferring money online before receivng the tickets.

Re: *WARNING: PLEASE READ*

Always hand over cash in hand, never pay into a bank account.
Even better, ring up yourself with there details and the tickets will be sent to your house and you'll have paid for them (done this a couple of times however it's always been with long standing members so we can trust each other etc).

I've bought tickets off here for numerous games and I've never been mugged off, mainly because I always insist on meeting with the cash for the tickets.

Re: *WARNING: PLEASE READ*

I know it doesn't stop this problem with away games but we could cut down on this using the new seat exchange feature surely, and use Bluemoon to advertise that you've got a seat available?

Anyone who wants to do this but doesn't know how, instructions are here: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.mcfc.co.uk/Tickets-and-Membership/How-to-use-Ticket-Exchange" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mcfc.co.uk/Tickets-and-Membe ... t-Exchange</a>

Re: *WARNING: PLEASE READ*

Bought and Sold many tickets on here in the past, no problems - As I've done the transaction face to face.

Speak with the person on the phone before you meet, this can stifle out the timewasters as well.

Look for poster verification, takes a few mins to have a look at the posters previous posts and if any other posters can back them up?

I think the T&T exchange on here is superb and is probably the main reason why I eventually registered on here in the first place.

Maybe blocking members with a low amount of posts and or members who have just registered. This would eliminate members from joining up and instantly being able to reply in a topic in this forum saying they have tickets.

Having to of been registered on here for a set amount of time, say 3mths on top of the post count also stops the rot.

The thing is with the seat exchange is alot of tickets are not always face value.

I seen a ticket for 111 for the Arsenal game on there for sale at £73 and one in 209 for £80. If someone is to sell on here it would be face value only.

It's a fantastic ticket thread.

You get to set the price on seat exchange, I think it's from 90% to 150% of face value. A Bluemooner could set it at face value or less, and then advertise it's available on here. It would take some of the risk out in some circumstances. If someone who can, is refusing to put their ticket on there from now on, I'd be a bit sus.

What Ste said is probably more sound and practical advise though.

I bought one off this guy and had no problems at all.

Re: *WARNING: PLEASE READ*

As long as people are sensible then the T&T exchange is invaluable to a lot of Blues.

I think people should use common sense and only buy tickets off people who've got a reasonably high post count on the site and also do the obvious stuff that people have stated above.
