Its Guinness time any day of the week.
Derby County FC has handed a lifetime ban to a fan who posted "abusive" tweets about the death of Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp's son.

The boy, Luey Jacob, was born with his intestines outside his body - known as gastroschisis - and died just two days after his birth in 2011.

Derby County officials tracked down the fan and interviewed him.

He has since deleted the tweets and posted a message saying: "Sorry to everyone for any harm caused."
The tweets were posted after Derby County played Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

The fan, called Jordan Byrne on Twitter, retweeted a message from the official Derby County Twitter feed about Sharp scoring a goal, but added the words "Dead son".

A friend then asked him: "Everything okay at home Bernie?x"

He responded by saying: "Billy Sharp's son is dead x"

The tweets came to the attention of Sharp and his partner Jade Fair, who both tweeted about it.

The couple previously set up the LJS Foundation to raise awareness of gastroschisis and money for research.
Derby County said in a statement: "While he apologised for his actions, Derby County stand firm that behaviour of this nature is entirely unacceptable and requires strong action.

"Derby County condemns all forms of abuse and will act quickly to punish anybody who is responsible for this type of grossly offensive behaviour."

The lifetime ban prevents the fan from attending any Derby County games, home and away, with immediate effect.

What a fucking sad world we live in.Absolute scum of the earth.Having lost our first son some 28 years ago I can`t imagine what Billy Sharp and his family must have through having to endure this sickening piece of shit.

Social media has given fucking morons a platform to say whatever they think will be offensive with the belief that they are untouchable. Utter scum, a lot of them out there unfortunately. Good on Derby for tracking him down and fucking him off

Well said, Oakie,

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. Never having had children, I can't begin to imagine the pain that you and your wife felt and continue to feel.

Social media can be great when used properly, but it has a lot to answer for when idiots are let loose on it.

Full marks to Derby County for their actions in banning this moron. I hope all other clubs follow suit and ban him - and anyone else, who posts this sort of shit - sine die.

I can only echo the other comments on this. I cannot understand what passes for a moral compass in some of these idiots, judging by his twitter tag he's around 21 years old so he should be mature enough to think about what he's posting - why bring up something so deeply personal and distressing about any individual? Well done Derby for taking prompt action.

Sorry to hear about your loss mate. Truly. The problem with social media is it gives people the chance to hide anonymously and write whatever abuse or horrific stuff they want. It's disgusting the stuff you see/read on there. Thankfully Derby have come down hard on the lad, what a horrible little **** he is.

I suspect the lads biggest punishment will be the shame he will feel for the rest of his life when he eventually grows up and realises exactly what he has done.
