What book are you reading now / or recommend?

Notes from the new age of dissent by Laurie Penny

She is a young socialist writer working for the New Statesman and the Indy, her book writes a first hand account of the student protests in London. I like the fact she writes with the venom of youth.
 
Just finished the 4th Thrones book - bit of a slog but underway with A Dance With Dragons (Book 5) now.

Parallel read Paul Connolly's Against all Odds which was a decent read about a lad who managed to make something of himself despite the most horrendous time as a kid in the abusive care system of the 60's.
 
Just about to finish "Road to McCarthy", Pete McCarthy's follow to to "McCarthy's Bar" (not as good, not as funny). And just about to start "Looking for Calvin and Hobbes "- a biography of Bill Watterson - the cartoons creator.
