But the sport is so powerful and doesn't want to be knocked off its perch and has the power to hide it.

You ever wonder why players are randomly and mysteriously get an "injury" (that nobody ever remembers from a game and was never reported from training) and aren't seen for ages?

Well, they aren't injured. They're serving drugs bans! But clubs and the governing bodies don't ban the players, they are told to just say they're injured.
