Alan Ball, please look at his record, Hughes can rightly claim that he has been successful as a manger up to this point. Alan Ball was a disgrace from his first job with Blackpool until his last, and if you look at him as a player he left everywhere badly he was the 70s answer to Stan Collymore as a person

Or 5 for Vuoso or 6 for Fowler. For those three he signed we could have had a great partner for Anelka

Alan Ball was a twat.

I am pretty sure it was him in charge when after getting dicked 4-0 and then 6-0 at Anfield in the space of 3 or 4 days he was asked by the MOTD reporter "So Alan what did you think of that?" and his response was something like "Brilliant, Liverpool were just brilliant to watch"........COCK!

a bit unfair on pearce. he did waste his money on samaras but given the fact that pearce had no other money to spend and he brought a few players through the youth system like ireland, richards, johnson, onoha and also brought in joe hart for next to nothing. he was left with a real mess when keegan went and nearly got us in to europe. i admit the last season was pretty poor and we didnt score anywhere near enough goals but he wasnt one of our worst managers by any means. the answer to the question in topic is alan ball!
