I hope this move works out for Bony. He is a good player whose confidence has gone, but I think if he goes back to a place where he is trusted he will quickly recover.

It's a smart move by Swansea. There is much less risk in buying Bony than there is in buying an unknown player from an overseas league who normally fail 9 times out of 10.

The fee City paid was £25m rising to £28m so if City get £12m for him we break even in the accounts.

Yes but we need at some point to make a stand against these sh*tty loan deals where we end up paying a large chunk of the wages. Think some players are taking the right royal piss out of us and will make zero effort to seal a permanent deal with the prospect of a wage cut. Time to call the bluff of some of these guys....

Stoke paid Bony's wages in full last season. I assume that means we didn't receive a loan fee.

It's time we said to Swansea we gave you the fee you wanted you have just received 50 million for one of your players so the price is £ 12/13 whatever we decide . No loan pay it leave it thanks

That won't happen because we are decent employers. In any event in most such cases where the player had done nothing wrong other than to fail to live up to expectations (e.g. Bony) the player would be entitled to terminate his contract and would have an action for a large settlement. Despite the ludicrously high salaries, footballers are still employees entitled to the benefit of employee legislation.

Yes, it was reported during the Tevez affair that if players don't player a certain number of games they can rip up their contract. If he left as free agent he would be able to negotiate a signing on fee to mitigate the effect of reduced wages. He would get the fee rather than City.

In the short term he might be worse off than simply sitting on his backside and seeing out his contract. But if wants to continue playing into his mid 30's he might be better off in the long term.

Maybe worth noting that Carlos Bacca has decided to join Villareal from Milan, thus leaving l'OM with the choice of Giroud (who Arsenal will not sell as he is their sole Plan B) & Bony.

What with Swansea coming into money in the coming days, we could finally get rid of the useless c**t.

Charming. No need for that.

Swans agreed terms with Everton. Medical tomorrow. If reports are right there'll move for Bony now. We'll see,
