Rooney had about 5 years where he was class but has dipped at an alarming rate since he was about 26. Now he's the shittest overpaid player in the world and utd would happily give him away to get him off their wage bill.

Have to go with Shearer too. His strike rate (especially at Blackburn) was unreal. Played a slightly different game after his injury in 97 but would still make a 'world squad' during his era.
