World Cup - effect on City

Our players and our club will be responsible for England not getting out of the group stages the media cant wait.

Hell, no. I want all the nations that have City players in the squad to be knocked out in the group stages (ain't going to happen, but hey ho. Get them home and then on a beach nice and early and have them rested up ready for next august.
Mentally a poor tournament sets us back way more than all the lads doing well could.

I think the world cup may have more impact on us for the start of next season seeing as we have a few players in the "fancied" teams. Not long to get sufficient rest between the latter stages of the world cup and the start of next season
Fortunately our squad should only need the odd tweak in the summer rather than major surgery. It shouldn’t affect us too much if players are late returning. Not as much as it would have if the wc had been last year. Perhaps not as much as some of our rivals

Looks like all of our players will be returning from friendlies uninjured, and hopefully their performances for rest of season wont be too affected by wanting to stay uninjured ahead of the WC.

Good performances by our 3 England players, apart from Stones asleep at the start. Bit of a worry.

Our England players need to start showering in that stuff that says "It does what is sez on the tin" and then, come what may, they will be waterproof and hit the new season running. The boo boy morons up and down the nation will still perform their moronic rantings.

Stones played well for England, Sterling and Walker were the two MOTM contenders.

Jesus scored the winner for Brazil against Germany in the biggest international game of the year so far.

De Bruyne got a goal and two assists.

Otamendi scored his first goal of 2018.

Bernardo was watching his Portugal team crumble without him, further proving how important he is to his manager.

David Silva was at home resting and getting precious time with his new son.

All in all a pretty good few nights for City, no?

Anyone know how well Otamendi played generally? Obviously shipping 6 goals doesn't sound great...
