Since this is my favorite Smiths song, that probably gives you a clue about my view of them. Always a bit too arch and precious for me, though the tunes are right enough, and old M could definitely turn a phrase. I used to think of them as Roxy Music in skinnier pants.

I have copied and moved this comment into the Mod section.....
