Would you take Maine Road back?

Its never gonna happen obviously, but just think, if the big man said hes gonna rebuild Maine Road, bring the memories back etc, would you be buzzin about it or say nah, Etihads better.

Im not talking about a place to create an atmosphere, as ive been there many a time when the atmosphere was like a morgue, but for sentimental value and memories, would you be delighted if it happened.

Just for the fact it was Maine Road, lived most of my life outside it, and witnessed so much history on and off the pitch, id say yes.

In a word No.

Some of my fondest memories are buried at Maine Road from playing truant to go and get autographs and great European night matches of the 70's through to Ali Bernarnia and The Goat but those days are gone and the new place is finally feeling like home. We're making new memories and it feels fucking great to be a part of it.

I would have liked City to create that vision above in Platt Fields Park , but it's never likely to happen ......

i was born and raised only yards from the Etihad , but the place was far different back then ...... it has been a bit 'souless' since i departed back in the late sixties , and to be honest it isn't much better now .

But i concede that this may change over time .....

With me being raised on yards from maine road, it takes over a big part of my heart, i grew up literally on the place, from going to school outside it (St.Edwards) to playing football up against the kippax wall, meeting legends like, Summerbee, Lee, Kinky and Rosler, also waking up every morning to see the kippax out my bedroom window, it was amazing!

Times do change i know.

I remeber threads on here from years ago, im sure you have seen them all about maine road, and how the atmosphere at the Etihad wasnt as good etc, but i do agree it is feeling like home, and things are picking up, apart from the cheese and security bollock.

It's time to let it go! As fantastic as it was.

I might be wrong here but aren't City the first club that have moved Stadiums and have won a major trophy?

Let's build new memories although continue to remember the past.

Just to be clear, I assume you mean to have won a major trophy, post-move?

Because Arsenal have moved Stadiums and won a major trophy, but not necessarily in that order.

I meant to have moved to a new stadium and then proceeded to win a major trophy - ie we won the FA Cup last season. Thought I made it quite clear to be honest?

Maine Road lives on in my mind... but I love the Etihad. Don't look back - move forward!

Correct. Would like a larger more impressive Etihad though, would be good to be able to get 60k,70k in there for the big games.
