The company was given the option of a corporate box at Old Trafford but turned it down. ‘We’re giving the tickets back to the fans,’ Ewanick said.

How the fuck is that giving the tickets back to the fans?

Surely it's "...giving the tickets back to the club to sell at an enormously inflated price to another corporate customer..." seeing as it's in a box?

Really brings home the immense scale of what's being undertaken.. won't be a mention of it in the press of course, but as soon as Mario parks on a double yellow it'll be front page.

haha yea, absolute joke... Many "fans" of city, well people who have joined the facebook page were unaware of the Campus developments....

You can guarantee the average joe on the street would know about this campus if it was being built at the swamp

Amazing pictures. First shots of the site from the air, if I'm correct. As others have stated, really brings home how big the site is and the work involved. Wonder if my complaint a while back about lack of updates was noted? ;-) (good one jrb)

Taken from the Aniline thread on SSC.

Time to move this over to the 'under construction' thread?

Work has begun on the 80 acre site of the Etihad Campus to create one of the most impressive training complexes in the world.

The site is currently being prepared for building work to start that will transform the area and allow City's Academy to become a world leader in producing fantastic new talent

Young players will be resident on the site, training on pristine, floodlit pitches. The campus will also contain a 7,000-seater stadium for Academy matches. This will mean bigger crowds, better facilities and a terrific venue for all manner of club activities.

Almost brings a tear to the eye. The site of England's future equivalent of La Masia (we hope). :)
