i'm the first to hold my hands up when i've got something wrong, after west brom i slated the taller of the toure's to high heaven. i ended up arguing with a few on here and i remember myself saying to my cousin "i can't wait for him to fuck off to the acon".

well...what a fucking tit i was, the man is fucking brilliant. strength, passing, tackling, shooting, vision, you name it he's got it. i really hope he's here for years to come as he's the best alround cm in world IMO. whilst others crumbled on sunday, he stood firm and continued to do what he does best.

not exactly a great thread i know but i just wanted to say sorry to anyone i argued with and sorry to yaya toure himself (even though he's not reading). at least it's a bit of positivity on here after recent performances.

so come on, lets have a yaya love in!

One thing he hasn't got... WORK RATE!!

Why do i seem to be the only one that can see he is one of the laziest players we have when he hasn't got the ball. It doesnt seem to cost us because we're usually bossing teams, especially at home but he will cost us one day. For example, when sunderland scored at their place, he's still in their half, i'm not saying he would have stopped the goal but for a "Box to Box midfielder" thats just not on. Also when he loses the ball after a run up field what does he do for the next ten seconds? Sits on his arse looking to the heavens.

He's good, but with a higher defensive work rate, he would probably be the best player in the world in that position.

that was my gripe with him before but i don't beleive it's his job to do both. he puts all his energy into bossing the middle going forward and winning it back quickly, not chasing all the way back every time.

that's why mancini plays holding players behind him. he does work very hard IMO, especially when he goes on them steam train runs.

Its all good bombing forward and doing something with the ball but this isn't going to happen everytime and i just think we're exposed to counter-attacking football big time because players like Yaya get out of position and don't work hard enough to get back. I think he's a holding midfielder someone thats always going to be there in the middle, his bombing runs are what sets him apart from other players because it's unusual to have this ability in his position, it doesnt mean its his job to bomb forward.

IMO all you have to do is look at United's team, how many times do you see players like Rooney and welbeck making tackles on the edge of their own box? Thats not their job but they do it because it's whats required to grind out results in tight games. It's not just Yaya either, their team as a whole just works harder than we do.

We're not talking about what he does with the ball, the point is without, like i said it hasn't cost us yet, but it will.
