There is so much I want to say right now....

Firstly I can cope with the disapointment and the frustrations of coming second. It's still a huge step forwards for the club as a whole. Before the season started I honestly thought second place was our aim but possibly a step too soon and I would have been more than happy with third place and qualifying for the Champions League outright for the first time in our history and not having to play a qualifying round first. So on that front we've undoubtedly been a success. Yet right now this afternoon it doesn't quite feel like that.

Before yesterday I was fully behind Mancini. However for the first time i'm now questioning this. There have been many occasions throughout the season I have wanted to question him but as we was progressing it was easy to turn a blind eye and to give him full reign without question. I had certain fears about his man-management style of certain players. His apparent lack of discipline towards Balotelli. The whole Tevez affair which I still don't believe we fully know the truth and it should never have been allowed to fester for so long and played out in the public eye on an almost daily basis. Dzeko's treatment (Milner similar) over the course of the season being in and out of the team as well as being told to Fuck Off back to Bosnia (Munich away). Silva playing on with an apparent injury. A desperate lack of width as well as always publicly criticising Johnson when he actually did perform ok. Given time off when we should have been training. Even Mancini's comments of 'a stupid injury' to Aguero's foot were needless and pointless. Didn't Aguero respond a week later saying he was keen to make people aware of what it was as he was not happy with the rumours etc.

We should have won the League Cup, for some reason Mancini was very negative with January and our fixtures and talked it up far too much for my liking. I remember reading his comments in February and they much more positive about the season ahead. Don't give players an excuse to look for tiredness or reasons to under perform. That's a sign of defeatism and once it seeps in it's bloody hard to get rid of.

Yesterday's game was a culmination of our whole season on show in one game. So many things were perplexing and some of his decisions unfathomable. We started so slow in a game we HAD to win. Too many player's showing outward signs of frustration, kicking the ball away after being given offside, kicking posts or throwing arms, stupid tackles and easy yellow cards. We was not focused to win, we was not focused on the job in hand yesterday. We looked a team of individuals, no cohesiveness, no plan and no teamwork.

Was Aguero really fit yesterday or played out of desperation and a last throw of the dice? The substitutions said everything about the season so far, the reluctance to play Tevez, the refusal to play Dzeko who will now be asked to carry our hopes for six games whilst Mario sits in the stands, the defiance to accept Mario is a loose cannon and needs pulling into line, the boy needs discipline in his life. What goes on in his head or more importantly why has it been allowed to go on? The aftermatch comments from Mancini were unecessary and again should be kept to the confines of dressing room/boardroom.

Before yesterday I would have said we will learn from our mistakes next season but right now i'm not convinced Mancini or some of these players will be given that chance. Some of our players were hurting at the final whistle and they'll be the ones back next season to put right whats undoubtedly gone wrong. For the rest there are still six games to go and six games to fight for that chance. Any players who are uncertain of their futures here need to fight for it now otherwise be shown the door. The same can be said for Mancini, Platt, Kidd and the rest of the coaching staff.

One thing I really think the club need more than any major signing is a full time therapist, because there is no doubt some of the players would benefit hugely from this. I've thought for over two years now this is a major requirement and something missing at this level of competition. I have personal experience and reasons to believe why this would be justified and i'm surprised no club seems to have yet taken this on board.

Well put. Nicely summed up, really.

Mario needs to go along with Mancini. I truly believe that Mancini has little authority and he would do better at some other club. MCFC needs a coach with a firm hand.

The whole thing with Dzeko, Milner & Johnson being treated unfairly..spot on.

(New board memeber and first post, just read the rule regarding making 100 posts before being able to start a thread so here goes.)

You raise some valid points but I wonder if RM could do with a little more help from his backroom team? I know there have been comments on here regarding how many medals Platt and Kidd have won which some appear to believe grants them immunity from criticism, but for me they have always looked out of their depth, perhaps it's time to show them the door and bring in a more experienced number two?

Good post Josh. Yesterday, I think I've said a few times, was akin to the Spurs away performance which I think ultimately cost Hughes his job. It's very easy to see when a team, collectively, either don't know what the manager wants, aren't well drilled enough, or simply have downed tools because they don't believe in the guy anymore. Happened with AVB towards the end of his reign at Chelsea, and I think yesterday it happened with Mancini.

I'm still fuming!!!! The result I can handle but the performance added to Marios behaviour still irk me today!! First time this season I've been genuinely disappointed with city and the players. Can handle getting beat but as long as we have a fucking go!! We had nothing to lose yesterday so we should have gone full steam but no one seemed up for it. Am still coming to terms with the change around in the 2nd half of the season and how we've capitulated!!

Great post, I keep saying it, but this season reminds me so much of Svens season. Same bright start, same disappointing finish. You have to wonder if Mancini thinks/knows he is/maybe is a dead man walking.

I just don't think that RM listens enough to those around him, or even allows them to have their say. Which makes me fear that he won't learn from the lessons of this season. Niall Quinn was on Sky Sports yesterday and said that he needs to react to the mistakes he's made and it got me wondering if he could be a new back room addition. We need someone with authority who can work with the manager to solve problems. So hard to achieve though as other clubs have shown.
I learned yesterday that RM sacked the City chef a while ago and brought in his own chef from his restaurant in Italy because the pasta wasn't right. It didn't sound like he was basing this decision and new appointment on any concrete nutritional evidence, and the City chef was excellent apparently but it just seems that Manciini likes things done his way and people like that are not always best at learning from their mistakes.

Two really good posts and sums up what most rational City fans are thinking. Mancini has now gone back to the beginning of last season.....with the squad we have we should let the opposition worry about us......to set us up the way we he did against Arsenal there has to be width and pace to provide an outlet and a threat, otherwise the pressure is never relieved. OR is the squad as good as we all think....and for the money we have spent, it should be ??
