so yeah feels like home now

There is definitely a home-coming buzz when you see the whirlygigs come into sight or when you see the place from the train. What makes it better than Maine Road is that you can see the whole of the stadium in its setting whereas Maine Road was stuck in between rows of houses. What makes Maine Road better are all the memories, but my memory is crap, so the new place is home despite attending Maine Road 1964 onwards.

Mind you - it took me about 3-4 years to stop calling the place Maine Road. Never took to COMSTAD and finally settled on calling it Eastlands. Don't know if I'll ever get to call it The Etihad...

My dad took me to my first ever city game at Maine Road when i was 6 and ever since ive been hooked! I have special memories of Maine Road seeing us get promoted and sadly relegated on a few occasions! I will always remember what it felt like when that final whistle went on the last game of the season against Southampton, the emotions of knowing that we would never play there ever again! At the age of 25 i have witnessed many highs and lows following city but something very special happened on the 13th and i realised how lucky i was to be a city fan! No other club could put you through that kind of emotion and I dont think i will ever feel the same at a football match ever again! Becasue of that special day i can now call the Etihad our home and look forward to a very bright future!

Still some work to be done to the outside of the stadium to soften the look but Etihad in now our home!

It's getting there.

We still need a stand, I don't think we have one. A Kop, Kippax or Stretford End. We've got "the South Stand" or "that bit next to the away fans, no the other side, no in the corner".
If we had our own stand, this would go a long way towards it.

Maine Road for me had good memories but the Etihad has beaten it by ten fold. Its my new home and I'm proud of it. I was always a little embarrassed by Maine Rd as it did look tired.

All for me thats missing in the etihad is MCFC on the seating in white like most grounds have.

As a part of the above mentioned generation who saw the glory days of the 60's I can honestly say that although Maine Road felt great at the timeit lost its appeal with each apssing year particularly as we deteriorated. The Etihad is great and I personally love it more days like 13th May no one can question it. I think the atmosphere for the big games is immense but I think we as fans have to lift it every game.

The Etihad is our new start, never been relegated in this stadium makes me smile.

I think the etihad now has history concerning city
After what happened against qpr.
It is already our past and it will become our future.

A house isn't a home until you make it home,
(if you know what I mean):)

Still got my signed away shirt with his name on the back, by the legend himself, need to get it framed and up on the wall.

I feel we need something to further our home, a badge on the 3rd tier or writing etc.

Obviously we have the banners and flags that overlap the boardings, but I feel we do need something on the seats. Maybe...
