Just shows the reality of football and how the "game" is totally different for them than the "sport" we as fans encounter.
We like to perceive this Us vs. Them scenario when in reality many players will know and socialise regularly with their supposed rivals.
Sky like to market the football product we buy into with intense rivalries, fans coming out with comments such as "death before I change my club"
Yet owners, managers, players would drop their clubs just like you'd drop your employer if a better job was offered to you.
Reminds me of WWE, where the wrestlers fight each other and show hatred in the ring, yet the next day they're best mates smiling and joking with each other at some publicity shoot.
Not really different to fans at all. The vast majority of fans on this forum, myself included, will count United fans amongst our friends, even though for 90 mins they will shout abuse at a rival club and fans. Football is just one aspect of life and it would be childish not to have friends of another club just because they represent/support another football team. Particularly when those people, even though they support a rival club, will share a lot of similarities with yourself.
