I suppose going off the lyrics we should now be singing

There's no one quite like John Bond
he has helped us on our way

That first season that he was with us was a real joy. The way he turned around the shambles that Mal had left us, with just three very shrewd signings (Bobby Mac, Hutch and Gerry Gow) was a work of genius as we were only heading one way before he came, and that was down. And the run to the cup final was exhilarating. I remember being at Peterborough in the fifth round (I think) and the atmosphere was amazing in the away end that day. Just a pity things started to go awry the next season, leading to the relegation the following season after that.

I wasn't keen on Kevin either, but voted for him when he was deservedly player of the year

Recall listening to an interview with him on Blue Tuesday on radio Manchester and he was very critical of the team and set up, came over as very bitter indeed.
Not certain but it may have been just before the semi against the rags and he gave us no chance to win.
