There's something in this I reckon, we're consistenly linked so there's interest from mancini. He's a good player who wasn't given a fair crack at liverpool. 6 million is too much, could get him for 4mil I would've thought.

I agree with the 4 million, 6 million is too much. If the wages are 60,000 a week or lower, I would agree with the signing.

Aquilani actually prefers to play behind the striker(s), although he is just as capable as playing as a regista or box-to-box. He would n't go straight in to the first team but is good player to have in the squad, ideally sited to european football and gives us the option of trying out a few more formations.

According to RAWK his buy-out clause is less than 5 and a half mill.

While I agree this is fantastic value for money, we can't just buy anyone who is a good deal!

I think one of our main concerns is that Barry is aging. De Jong is a great enforcer but when we need someone to fill the Barry role, it's like putting a square peg in a circle slot.

I guess this is where the Ander Herrera rumours come in. If I remember correctly he plays in a bit of a Barry esque position? Can someone confirm this?

To be honest what we really need is a clone of Yaya. If we had two midfielders of Yaya's quality, we'd boss the misfield!

Also we can't forget Milner who is capable of playing in the middle in my opinion. For me there's nothing to suggest that he can't be groomed into the next Barry.
