Well Mancini has praised Bale a lot in the press and there was a story in several of the papers a few days ago at how Mancini would love Bale but doesn't think Spuds will sell. I'd be VERY surprised after missing out on Hazard and Bale coming out in the press about considering his Spuds future after them missing CL if we weren't seriously pursuing him.

I'm looking at a midfield of

Yaya
Silva and Nasri as those deep-lying playmakers we need, but also licence to go forward. Kind of like Stephen Ireland, in that season
AJ and Bale as the chalk-on-your-boots wingers.
Rotation between the strikers. Sell one of them. 3 strikers for one position is more than enough.

The only problem being restricting Yaya. But this system gives us a much greater variety than relying on the big man to bail us out time and time again.

From what I've read, VDV looks like he might be off to schalke, King retiring, Moderic want out, Rednapp might go if he doesn't get a new contract and Bale considering his future due to not having CL. Looks to me that if VDV goes it could be the start of some real problems at Spurs.

Bale and martinez are the two I want the most. That's exactly what we need a class winger and deep lying playmaker. We're not desperate for a forward unless one leaves. You need 4 top class strikers in my opinion to win the league.
