Forget RVP, the player I want City to make our annual signing from Arsenal this year is Song. He can play well at CB or DM/CM, quite pacey, a strong tackler and he's got a great pass on him. Think he would work great with Yaya, two big powerful units in midfield, Song to defend and Yaya to attack.

Nonsense.

Are folks starting threads like this just as an attention seeking exercise?

Song is definitely a better player than Barry and DJ. His mobility and passing range are the reason. Very sound player, I think De Jong is the better tackler but Song is a better all-round player. Mobility is needed alongside Yaya, to take the pressure off him more than anything.

I am happy with all the team but would like to see upgrades on the aging Barry and Lescott. the later whilst being good most of season nearly cost us the league with his gaff. At the highest level (top 4 games and CL) they both look lacking.

Agree with what you say about Song but Barry and Lescott have performed at their best IN the games against the top 4 imo. Admittedly they are both quite old and we could do with looking for replacements soonish I think it is wrong to say they are not good enough for our level. Lescott was superb all season, our best defender imo, and it was unfortunate his only really-bad mistake all season came in the most important game.

nonsense....song is one of arsenals biggest problems and just because he made few good over the top passes doesnt mean he's a great passer. he makes alot of sloppy passes and he's slow and not very mobile. he's the main reason why teams run through arsenals midfield. and going by his attitude, there is a reason why wenger wants to sell him despite having 3 years on his contract

Hmmm. According to plenty of posters....he ain't good enough for us, but he is seemingly good enough for Barcelona !

I think we need a reality check at times.

He is a very good player. As is Diaby at Arsenal.

Either of these would improve our squad in my opinion
